Mobility transition in Dortmund: Additional 8 light rail vehicles from Kiepe Electric and HeiterBlick
DSW21 has ordered an additional eight light rail vehicles from HeiterBlick and Kiepe Electric The Dortmund light rail project now includes 34 new vehicles and an identically modernized existing fleet of 64 vehicles Kiepe Electric supplies traction, APS, TCMS, electrical system and control technology and offers an extensive spare parts package for the operation of the LRV DSW21, Dortmund, has ordered eight additional light rail vehicles (LRV’s) from HeiterBlick, Leipzig, and Kiepe Electric, Düsseldorf, with planned delivery in 2025. The LRV’s will complement the fleet of 26 new vehicles already ordered, eight of which are already successfully delivered. As a system supplier, Kiepe Electric is responsible for the planning, delivery, assembly, and commissioning of the electrical equipment.

("Heramba") today announced the completion of the purchase of majority control of Kiepe Electric from the subsidiaries of Knorr-Bremse Systeme für Schienenfahrzeuge GmbH (“Knorr-Bremse”). As a result of the transaction, Knorr-Bremse will continue to own 15% of Kiepe Electric and will remain a strategic partner. Milestone in Gothenburg: Kiepe Electric and Alstom hand over the 40th M33 light rail vehicle to Göteborgs Spårvägar and Västtrafik
The final from 40 M33 Light Rail Vehicles (LRV) entered revenue passenger service at Gothenburg’s Transit Authority, Göteborgs Spårvägar and Västtrafik Transport Association Kiepe Electric, a consortium partner with Alstom, was responsible for the supply of innovative electrical drive technology and on-board systems, Knorr-Bremse supplied brakes, entrance and HVAC systems The successful partnership between Kiepe Electric and Alstom will continue with the production of 60 longer M34 LRVs, with delivery starting in 2024 The final from 40 M33 Light Rail Vehicles (LRV) entered revenue passenger service at Gothenburg’s Transit Authority [Göteborgs Spårvägar and the Västtrafik Transport Association] at the beginning of December 2023. The vehicles are equipped with innovative, and highly reliable electric drives supplied by Kiepe Electric. These LRVs will help strengthen the Swedish metropolis's sustainable transportation concept.
